An Olfactory Treat Tonight

Sunshine, warmer temperatures and a bit of a breeze.  The perfect combination for line-dried laundry.  Next to the smell of a clean baby, there is nothing like it! 

I wonder what it is that makes it smell sooooo good.  Hmmm could be a science project in that.

Neon Madonna

One Friday night, I had nothing to do. I took a walk up and down Granville and along Broadway with my dog and my camera.  I was particularly interested in taking pictures of neon signs.  I liked the crown in the window of Royal Nails on Broadway. A statue in the window was bathed in the neon glow and painted with eerie colours.  January  21, or so.

Guelph - old brick house

Last week, when my son and I were in Guelph, we got another taste of Winter.  When the sun came out again, the light was so great that I was itching to get out and take a few photos. The old brick and stone buildings looked so beautiful to my West-coast eyes.  We can become habituated to the beauty around us and eventually not even notice, in the words of the Louis Armstrong song, "What A Wonderful World" this is. 

Sure, there is hurt and ugly in abundance, but there is beauty, joy and wonder to be found, as well.

I want to share a few photos, some thoughts.  I envision this blog to be me, walking along the beach of life, looking, seeing, and sharing.  When I find a shell, a bit of beach glass or an interesting bit of driftwood, I pick it up, wipe it off and show it to you: hey! Look at this!
