Glorious Autumn

Colin and I were marveling at what a beautiful autumn we are enjoying.   It almost makes you forget the dismal dripping spring that we had.  Now is the springtime of our discontent made glorious autumn.

Some Autumnnal Offerings - including a new poem:

Finally able to upload to my blog again.

Sunflowers - such happy flowers. These are growing in a back yard on the way to work.  I bike past them daily, yet didn't stop to love them - or even really notice them until on a Saturday ride, last weekend.  Slow down and love the gifts of creation!

 a sad passing

A gift of grapes from Rokebyland vineyards

a glad passing - in a riot of colour

a poem:

Passing

This is the September morning
When Summer chooses to sleep late
And Autumn rises early,
Peeking through trees
Making air visible
With misty gifts of sunlight.

daisy?

When you zoom in on the center of the flower, there is a ring of tiny flower-like parts in the middle. Flowers within a flower.

Blooming where it would seem impossible to bloom.

I had a couple of conversations today with someone who is dealing with something quite difficult. She reminds me of this snapdragon; blooming beautifully in spite of the difficult circumstance.

I have been watching these snapdragons blooming since early spring.  There are a few plants poking up between fence and tarmac in a back lane. They are tough tenacious and beautiful.
Thank You.
